Just How Good is Your Website?

Store Location

Wow! What's store location got to do with the Website? Well, this program is for music merchants, and you folks have stores. Give yourself ten points here if folks can find your store and find out basic information about it, such as where it's located and when you're open.

I'd suggest that basic store information be on the default entry page (what some folks call the home page) of your Website. If you've got lots of stores, have a store locator.

You fix this one by putting the information out there. One of the purposes of your store Website should be to drive traffic to your physical store. You're a whole lot more effective at that if you tell people where your store is, how to contact you, how to get there, and when you're open.

One of the emerging international standards suggests that you have your basic contact information, privacy policy, terms, return policy and other similar information in a place on your site that can be reached with one click from every page.
