Do You Have Clear Objectives?

Without clear objectives, you really won't know if your Web site is doing well or not. In my research into effective e-business projects and initiatives, I found that the successful projects had clear objectives from the beginning and measured their performance against those objectives.

The best objectives are clear and measurable, but they also measure significant behavior. Hits are not a measure of behavior. Downloading files is. Time spent on the site is also a measure of behavior. Requests for information, using auto-responders is a measure of behavior.

Don't give yourself the full five points unless you not only have clear objectives, but regularly measure your performance against them.
