How Folks Use the Net for Local Shopping
In some ways folks use the Web the same way when they’re shopping locally as they do when they’re looking for the best deal on jeans and comparing Land's End and Levi's. They shop and research online for the same reasons if they’re making a local purchase as they do if they’re going to buy from a merchant far away. If you know why and how they shop you can increase the odds that they shop with you.
They still use the same search engines when they’re shopping locally that they do if they’re considering an online purchase. If they find you on Google, for example, they need to know that you’re right around the corner and not on the other side of the world. If you know what to do, you can increase the odds that they find you when they go hunting on Google or Yahoo!
