Three Marketing Principles for the Digital Age
Since the fundamentals don’t change, you want to continue the good marketing practices that you’ve always used, BUT, you want to add these three principles that address how you can use Digital Age tools to improve your marketing.
Your Web sites are great places to put information. You can enrich that information with links. You can make it easy to find with a search engine. Add features that help visitors use the information more easily.

Use email for personal contact, to respond automatically to information requests, for newsletters that help you stay in touch and establish your brand, and for notifying customers and prospects of important changes. Don’t overload your emails with information. Instead include links that take readers to your Web site for more detail.

Gosh, you know all the reasons you should do this. The same reasons that your customers automate manufacturing or distribution functions are the reasons that you should look at automating your marketing functions on the Net. Just be careful to assure that there's human help available for folks who need it and that you consider the ways you will leverage every point of contact to improve your marketing results
