Stage 3 - Develop the Pages, Functions, and Plans

>Finally, in this step, it's time to design the pages. Lots of businesses start out at this step. That explains why there are SO many websites that don't meet objectives. Starting at this step is like starting to pour concrete for your house before the plans are done.

If you've done your homework so far, though, this step is where you start putting the actual site together. Here are some things you'll do, in approximately this order.

• Pass on your site design and performance specifications.
• Agree on Project Performance Milestones and payment.
• Agree on any incentives, profit sharing or performance plans.
• Develop and decide on the look and feel.
• Develop a limited number of template pages.
• Develop forms, database coding and other things that make the site work.
• Add links from inside content (I call these Content Links).
• Develop promotion plan.
• Develop description and keyword metatags for all Entry Pages.
